Sleep & Nutrition training for shift workers

To improve the quality of life in the workplace, a health training workshop was offered at the UFM canning plant in Locminé on 15 and 16 January and attended by 11 employees. Carried out by the Défi Santé Nutrition Association, this workshop provided shift workers with useful information about sleep and nutrition.

Concerned about the quality of life within the company and the needs of its employees, d’aucy Group has been offering its production staff health training courses for the past 4 years.

On 15 and 16 January, 11 employees of the UFM canning plant in Locminé participated in a training session on nutrition and sleep adapted to shift work. Over the past 4 years, about 50 employees attended this annual training workshop, which was set up at the UFM at the request of the employees. Led by two health professionals from the Défi Santé Nutrition Association, this 2-day workshop helped to answer employee questions about sleep and nutrition management according to their irregular work patterns. Alternating between theory and practice, through a cooking workshop and group discussions, these two days have enabled employees to acquire the resources needed to limit the possible negative effects of shift work.

Nutrition and sleep are both important determinants of health. Helping employees to apply good practices, good attitudes about eating and sleeping have a direct impact on workplace wellness and professional effectiveness.
